Episode 2011: Who Knows How Near My End is to Me?

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

Watching players attempt to apply logic to a mystery is always entertaining.

Try to have at least one mystery per adventure. It doesn't need to be central to the story, or earth-shattering, but you should have something mysterious and puzzling - essentially something that doesn't make sense at first glance. And try to present it early in the adventure/session if you can.

Even if there's no enormous conspiracy or monster behind it, it gives the players something to puzzle over. Players who enjoy mysteries and trying to solve them can have something to think about while others enjoy combats or chases or whatever.

The antivirus stuff would keep Nute out of the Falcon. No guarantees that it would also keep any other intelligent artificial beings out as well. Hmmm, and unless there's a way to update star charts internally on the Falcon, any updates would need to be confirmed as valid beforehand. If all other external sources are saying your info is wrong, how long would you be able to keep from updating every time you dock somewhere?

Ooo, zoom-able glasses; very nice. If I had to have glasses permanently on my head and fully covering my eyeballs, I'd want fancy ones too. And some hidden depths from Kanata too; I wonder if there's something like that in the movie as well. There's definitely some sort of dramatic moment happening and Finn is getting visibly upset or angry.

Rey: This could be the work of someone like Nute Gunray.
BB-8: That would fit the bill, yeah.
Yanni: But Chewie's antivirus stuff keeps Nute out of the Falcon. Its charts shouldn’t be affected.
Rey: Hmm. So either it’s something else, or Nute has defeated the antivirus.
Yanni: Well Chewie’s checking that out now.
Rey: Anyway, can we show you the map and see if you recognise the region?
Darth Kanata: Yeah. But first, if you don’t have any death sticks, I need a drink.
Finn: You know those things will kill you?
[SFX]: klik
[SFX]: zooomm... {Kanata zooms his glasses in, magnifying his eyeballs alarmingly while staring at Finn}
Darth Kanata: Life will kill you, son. It’s just a question of how you choose to spend it.
Finn: I’ll spend mine not debasing myself.
Darth Kanata: Yet you’re hanging out with this lot?
