Player Characters
Qui-Gon is a Jedi knight. Jim is a rather gung-ho roleplayer, interested in action, cool fight scenes, and lucrative spoils over careful consideration or puzzle solving. He frequently acts before he thinks, which includes fixating on his own strange explanations for setting details that the GM hasn't explained yet. |
Obi-Wan is a Jedi padawan, apprenticed to Qui-Gon. Ben is a thoughtful roleplayer who tries to think through the best course of action within his character concept and the setting. He enjoys coming up with clever ways to justify the success of his plans within the premises of the setting. |
Jar Jar is an alien native of the planet Naboo. Sally is Ben's younger sister. Ben took her along to the game one evening when his parents couldn't get a babysitter for the night. The GM quickly generated an alien character for her to play so she wouldn't get bored. She enjoys the make-believe aspect of the game, but has some trouble separating it from reality. |
R2-D2 is a droid mechanic, initially in service on Queen Amidala's royal yacht. Pete is an old friend of Jim's. Jim invited him along to join in this new game. Pete designed a character to maximise all the skills he thought would come in most useful in a space game, at the cost of being a short, squat robot with no arms. |
Shmi is Anakin's mother, and a slave of the junkyard owner Watto. Shmi is played by an acquaintance of Ben's, who attends his drama classes. She was interested to come along and see what this "roleplaying games" thing was all about, after Ben described it to her as a sort of improvisational acting thing. She is dedicated to playing her character as a real, complex person with motivations inspired by a well-considered backstory. |
Non-Player Characters
Boss Nass is the leader of the Gungan species on Naboo. He rules from Otoh Gunga, an underwater city. His main concern is recovering the mystical Lost Orb of Phanastacoria, a powerful Gungan artefact capable of protecting his people from any attack. |
Sio Bibble is the Governor of Naboo during the reign of Queen Amidala. She trusts him implicitly, but Qui-Gon suspects Bibble is up to some sort of nefarious plotting behind the throne to take absolute power into his own greedy hands. Who is right remains to be seen. |
Queen Amidala is the absolute ruler of the human population of Naboo. She is 14 years old, and was elected to the office of Queen due to her great wisdom and popularity. How exactly she gained these at her age is a mystery. |
Captain Panaka is Queen Amidala's bodyguard and leader of the Royal Security Forces of Naboo. As such, his job is to keep the Queen out of trouble, which seems to be a very difficult thing to do with Jedi knights around. |
Padmé is supposedly one of Queen Amidala's handmaidens, instructed to accompany the Jedi on their adventures. She is really (but unbeknownst to the Jedi) Queen Amidala, incognito. |
Anakin is a young slave boy who works in Watto's junkyard on Tatooine. He is an unimportant throwaway character that the GM inserted merely for colour in one scene. |
Watto is a junkyard owner and pod racing driver on Tatooine. He owns Shmi and Anakin as slaves, and gets Anakin to repair his pod between races. He is a Toydarian - a flying blue alien. |
