Blaster bolts are superheated plasma or something right? Cauterizing wounds takes heat, so even if chunks of flesh are blown away or vaporized, there shouldn’t be that much blood to see.
Turning right is a good trick? Since the hauler survives, I guess that would have to be a pretty good trick since I think this train has been going around the mountains on the left side this whole time. Wait no, this is just dumb luck the hauler didn’t explode from the scraping. Han/Chi’ra has that in spades though, so that’ll have to do.

Jim: The hauler scraped along the mountain wall!
Jim: The dangling cable nearly took out Beckett! But he grabbed it.
