Mechanical Ability, Level 1: Build a Podracer
Build a working podracer! The pod may be made of any materials and may be any size, but it must be capable of moving under its own power.
Post photos showing the construction of your podracer and a video of your podracer in action to the net and post links in the Cheddar Monk Academy forum.
Note: Padawans must not risk the lives of anyone or break any local traffic regulations!
Cheddar Monk points: 6 to 10, based on design, construction, racing speed, and control

Baby Wan Kanobi | 7 | 2010-02-08 09:51:37 | A commendable effort for one so young. A longer, untethered test flight would further establish this design. Pilot training video here, pod test flights here and here. |
Hieraco | 8 | 2010-03-07 08:08:28 | A fine looking design and it clearly has good handling control. We would have liked to see some exterior shots, and a demonstration of true racing speed. We hope you didn't scare the other drivers! Blog post and video. |
Mary Leathert | 8 | 2010-09-01 09:02:26 | Good construction, though needs some work on the speed and control! Construction photos here, here, here, here. Race video here. |
Slerte | 9 | 2010-09-06 00:42:52 | Very impressive, using Force Levitation for all assembly, and providing a custom soundtrack. Video here. |
IWC Junkie | 8 | 2010-09-06 00:45:12 | Reusing the droid disguise show mindfulness of the environment, but lack of podracing engines may be holding you back! Video here. |
Mala Kethel | 10 | 2010-09-12 00:17:15 | First class podracer building and flight, combined with other challenges! Video here. |
pjt33 | 7 | 2010-09-14 07:58:12 | Clearly a rushed job, but points you have earned. Photos here, here, here. Video here. |
