Episode 46: Wherefore Artoo

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

It's important to start off on good terms with new players in your group.

Yes folks, it's time for another player. Last time we did this - to introduce Sally - we ended the previous strip with an explicit break at the end of a game session. Although this strip does mark the beginning of a new session of play, we didn't bother to mention the end of the session in the last one. That level of explicit detail would just get tedious after a while. It's not terribly important to the actual story where one game session ends and a new one begins, so we're going to glide through them fairly seamlessly. Mostly.

Vision-Impaired Transcript

Qui-Gon: Hey guys, this is Pete. I told him how cool this game is and the GM said he could join in. Pete, this is Ben, and his sister Sally.
Jar Jar: Hi Pete!
R2-D2: We're starting now, you can go into the next room and play with your dolls.
Jar Jar: How wuude!
GM: Uh... Sally is an alien on a quest for an important artefact. Pete, why don't you tell us about your character?
R2-D2: I'm a state-of-the-art all-purpose non-anthropomorphic utility robot. I'm maxed out on every worthwhile skill, making me superior to any organic entity.
GM: He's a droid mechanic.
R2-D2: Just one of the many things I've mastered.
Jar Jar: Whassa your name?
R2-D2: Model designation R2, serial number D2. But you may call me Lord R2-D2.
Jar Jar: Mesa calls you Artoo!
R2-D2: Right. We're going to get along really well... I can just tell.
Jar Jar: Yay!
