Some players treat gaming as an optimisation problem. Thinking that there's a best solution and they just need to find it.
But it's often better if that's simply not true. It's usually more interesting if there are trade-offs that make no one solution the best. Yes, you can boost X skill, but at the cost of Y or the risk of Z. Should you do it, if it's not clear what the overall advantage is? Well, that's up to you.
Firstly, this gives the players more interesting choices. Secondly, they don't feel bad if they miss the "obviously" best approach. Any approach might be justifiable, so there's no need to feel like you're messing up if you don't figure out the absolute best. Thirdly, the occasional failure or bad thing happening because you took a risk is more fun than just succeeding all the time.

Okay, I really want to know what reason the movie characters had for getting surprised here with their weapons down. They blast their way onto the ship. Then start sneaking around with guns out. And then they get caught without their weapons pointing where they wanted to go? I know these folks aren't all well-trained soldiers, but Finn at least shouldn't have been caught like this as he's a former Stormtrooper if I remember right.
On the plus side, the heroes probably aren't dead and they'll get to find Chewbacca that much faster! Can you imagine just how much time is saved by being brought directly to the cell block? There's just the veeeeery minor problem of getting away from the guards. Rey/Pete will probably pull something off to get them out though. Maybe Force Persuasion or something like that; Kylo's confirmed to not be on the ship anymore, so that should be simple enough to do.

Rey: Down that corridor!
GM: You emerge at an intersection just behind a passing patrol.
GM: Here’s the map. How do you proceed?
Rey: Blasters up, obviously. Slow and steady. We don’t want to get ambushed.
GM: Advancing cautiously with weapons ready grants +3 to initiative, but halves movement.
Finn: The ship will lock down soon. We need to find Chewie quickly.
Rey: Mmm... optimisation problem. +3 versus... what? Full movement?
GM: Lowering weapons and making haste will double movement. But if you get surprised, the penalty is... let’s just say significant.
Rey: I have enhanced Force Sense. That should cover any shortfall.
Rey: Yeah. I’ve got this. Weapons down. Let’s hustle!
GM: <roll> You hear a noise behind you.
Rey: Turn and check it out! We need eyes everywhere to avoid being surprised.
GM: You don’t see anything behind you.
Rey: Onward!
GM: <roll> Two troopers step out in front of you, blasters raised.
Trooper 1: Freeze!
Poe: Whoa!
Finn: We’re dead.
Rey: Worse! I lost the battle of wits!
