Episode 2378: Boom, Crash Operator

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

If you kill off NPCs to make a point about how mean and ruthless the enemy is, try to give the NPCs some interesting or meaningful last words. Give the players some insight into the victims' lives and what was important to them. This gives them more humanity and makes their deaths more poignant and motivating. Hopefully.

You can also make their last words cryptic, or clueful. Hint at some greater mystery, or some vast treasure, or some unfinished business that the heroes would be well-advised to pursue themselves. A single NPC's dying words can spark whole adventures!

Commentary by memnarch (who has not seen the movie)

Oh, and we're suddenly back to the chase scene. And it's going about as well as I expected.

Does this mean the Resistance is down to two ships now? At some point, I'd thought there was only the big one until I quickly rechecked the outside chase scene again and found this view of three. Then again, I'd also thought we'd have had the Resistance escape to somewhere else by now, and that's obviously not the case. I suppose that would defeat the whole purpose of having the extended chase sequence in the comic, but I really don't see how the movie audience was meant to buy that this is possible.

Does this mean we'll get to see where Poe has slunk off to at least? I don't believe there's much he can do without a ship, but I'm at least curious to see what he, and by extension Jim, is trying to do. Maybe he'll be working on trying to acquire another ship for another hare-brained scheme in the comic.
