Episode 2332: Give Them a Money for Their Run

<<FIRST     <PREVIOUS     NEXT>     LATEST>>

All good plans have multiple steps.

Gives them more chances to go wrong.

Commentary by memnarch (who has not seen the movie)

......Where's the "???"? There was supposed to be an Earth shattering "???". Oh wait, that's just Jim.

I suppose we'll be finding out how "Step 1: profit" happens on the fly then as usual for Jim's plans. It's also amusing that nobody is immediately speaking up against this plan. Maybe that's because there's no obvious danger involved. I'm sure dangerous stuff will make itself apparent later. This is a main Star Wars movie after all and we haven't had a lightsaber fight yet.

So this feels like it's meant to be a dramatic scene of some kind with the camera angles, but at the same time, the scenes prior to it also make it feel like it isn't. Hmmmm. I don't know how much zoom the camera could have and still be a large panel like this, so this could just be clever editing. The reverse can definitely work though; Threepio's in-focus panels a few comics ago look like they match up with the last one here. Larger panels do help I have to say as I just realized he's got an appearance change again. I wonder if audiences didn't like the red arm change of Episode VII and that's why we're back to regular C-3P0.

Edgar: No, this is a much better plan. And Admiral Holdup has signed off on it.
Edgar: Step 1: Profit!
Edgar: Step 2: Buy a whole bunch of stuff from the First Order.
Edgar: Step 3: Their ships go away.
{beat}
C-3PO: As Jim’s plans go, that’s pretty well thought out. I say we go for it.
